BIDDING IS NOW OPEN

WHAT IS AN AUCTION OF PROMISES?

​

An Auction of Promises is when donators promise to provide a gift or service to the highest bidder, e.g. dog walking or free grass cutting. Guests then bid on the person offering that service with funds being donated to the cause.

​

  • Bidding can now be made using the form which is available on this page, or the form which will be available in the church.

​

  • Bidding can take place until Monday 30th March. The highest bidder for each promise will then be contacted within 7 days.

​

WHAT YOU CAN NOW BID FOR

 

  1. COMPUTER HELP (1): Evenings or weekends. 6 hours of help - these can be taken in hour slots or as 2 hour sessions. Software help, general use advice or even just typing up documents etc.

  2. COMPUTER HELP (2): Up to 10 hours help on any of the following: Windows 10; MS Office - Word, Excel, Access; Broadband setup; Android OS; Joomla website.

  3. HOMEWORK HELP: Evenings or weekends. 6 hours of help - these can be taken in hour slots or as 2 hour sessions.

  4. DOG WALKING (1): Evenings or weekends. 6 hours of help - these can be taken in hour slots or as 2 hour sessions.

  5. DOG WALKING (2): Time to be confirmed.

  6. BABYSITTING: Evenings or weekends. 6 hours of help - these can be taken in hour slots or as 2 hour sessions.

  7. READING TO SOMEONE: Evenings or weekends. 6 hours of help - these can be taken in hour slots or as 2 hour sessions.

  8. HELPING WITH READING: Evenings or weekends. 6 hours of help - these can be taken in hour slots or as 2 hour sessions.

  9. COFFEE & A CHAT: Evenings or weekends. 6 hours of help - these can be taken in hour slots or as 2 hour sessions.

  10. COMPANY FOR SPORT/RUNNING: Not more than 5km running. Evenings or weekends. 6 hours of help - these can be taken in hour slots or as 2 hour sessions.

  11. CURRY SUPPER AT A FAMILY HOME: Invitation for 4 people for a curry supper at a family home.

  12. LESSONS IN BASIC SPANISH: 2 lessons in basic Spanish.

  13. CONVERSATION CLASS IN ITALIAN: 1 hour conversation class at a local home.

  14. GARDENING (1): 8 hours of gardening taken either in one block or spaced over a number of blocks even 1 hour at a time. Owner of the garden would need to provide tools if required.

  15. GARDENING (2): Lawn cutting, weeding, hedge cutting. Tools need to be supplied. Time to be confirmed.

  16. FLOWER ARRANGEMENT: To make a flower arrangement and deliver locally on requested day.

  17. CHOCOLATE CAKE: Chocolate cake with ganache topping - gluten free if required.

  18. LEMON DRIZZLE FAIRY CAKES: Tray of lemon drizzle fairy cakes - gluten free if required.

  19. PROSECCO WINE: 6 bottles of Prosecco wine.

MAKING A BID FOR THE AUCTION

To make a bid for a promise or promises, please complete the form which you can download here, and either put it in the box on the table at the back of the church or hand it in to the parish office in an envelope marked ‘Auction of Promises’. If you prefer, you can choose to submit your bid using the form below.

Please note that all personal information will be kept confidential and only used by the organisers to contact you for clarification or when the final bidding is made.

​

You need to do this not later than Monday 30th March.

YOU CAN NOW SUBMIT A BID or BIDS FOR THE AUCTION USING THIS FORM. PLEASE USE ONE FORM FOR EACH BID.
